Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public talker. She was the creator of Feminist Frequency, a web site that features videos and comments analysing the way women are depicted in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency, a website dedicated to education, which examines women's roles in popular culture, is directed by Sarkeesian. She is committed to deconstructing stereotypes of women and the way they appear in popular culture. Additionally, she works to raise awareness of cyber-bullying targeting women, as well as other marginalized groups of people. A graduate in social and political thought at York University Sarkeesian is also a much sought-after public talker.
