Kari Sam Wuhrer born April 28, 1968 is an American singer and actress. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager. She is famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television series Sliders as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), who is a payroll manager, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, an officer in the police force and a automobile salesman. She has three brothers and sisters. The singer began performing in club nights as a teenager. She often would leave her house in order to perform. Later, she began her studies in drama at Tisch School of the Arts in New York University, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College and The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with renowned teacher Uta Hagen. Kari began acting when she was still in the teen years. Her first big break in the form of MTV Remote Control in 1987.
